Digging out the compost

Tuesday was a free day and I knew that my compost bins were in desperate need of emptying before I got going this season.
So it started from this:

then had 14 of these:

and then got to this:

I'd had wasps nesting in the bin during last season and fortunately they had all disappeared/died during the cold weather and all that was left was the empty nest:

The rest of the plot is looking rather sorry for itself, but in a couple of months it will be much different I'm sure

Rhubarb

Not a bad haul brought home for mid January!
